Ola: Wow, Big congratulations my guy, I'm so happy for you. How did it happen? Tell me, man!
Ayo: Thanks man! It was a business deal I've been working on for a while now and it hit! Boom, I got enough profit to buy a car. You know I've always wanted one. I will send pictures of it to you on Instagram.
Ola: (Surprised) For real????, I'm really happy for you. More wins Man!
(Ola checks his IG and sees the pictures)
Ola: (Starts brooding), Omoooo, this life is not just balance. God please, I also want to own a car. This oppression is too much. I can't deal any longer!
Hmnnnn, random thoughts like this have left a lot of people in dejection. Oppression everywhere is a word that many young adults have associated with themselves. The little things humans count as achievement these days are what is causing oppression for a whole lot of people. Young adults are really facing it big time. The urgent urge to want to get better and live a ravishing lifestyle has gotten a lot of people oppressed because they are not getting what they want.
However, let's think about it this way truthfully, where is there no oppression? It's everywhere. Look all around you, there's actually oppression. That very moment you see that your colleague getting that particular business deal, that house, that car, that job and you're not getting it, oppression comes in. Why does one get oppressed at this point? I put it to be Self-doubt, yes, a lot of young adults are living in self-doubt, they feel they aren't capable enough to do some things which are not so. I also put it to be Laziness. Most young adults want it easy and are not ready to put in the work needed. Life isn't like that. Hard work pays. No money, job or business can come to you if you are lazy and even if it comes, it won't stay for long because you're lazy. Many would say "But I'm not lazy", Yes you might not be, but are you giving yourself time? The fact that you haven't gotten there doesn't mean you won't get there. Work hard and see how your hustle will pay!.
Finally, I would always advise you to know that not everyone can "chill with the big boys", this life is not balanced, our race is different. And I believe once you know this, thoughts of oppression will start leaving you bit by bit and Oppression will be dealt with once and for all. Always know that everyone has the tendency to be oppressed even for the richest person in the world, but once it comes, don't give in to it, try to stay happy for yourself and for others. Also, know that you can heal from oppression or not even get oppressed at all. Know that you can make it big too. Everything is time and process.
